dc.descriptionThe article examines de-russification and de-communization as relevant areas of law-making activity in Ukraine. It is noted that they have acquired particular importance after the start of the full-scale invasion of the russian federation. The main legislative changes aimed at neutralizing Russian influence on the sphere of public space and culture are analyzed. Special attention is paid to the Law of Ukraine “On the Peculiarities of State Policy for the Restoration of National Memory and Overcoming the Consequences of the Colonial Past”, adopted in 2023, which defined the legal mechanisms for the purification of toponymy, the dismantling of monuments, and the ban on the propaganda of the Russian imperial heritage. The role of local governments in law-making activity at the community level is considered, in particular through the adoption of decisions on the renaming of streets, the dismantling of monuments, etc. It is emphasized that these actions are not exclusively political or symbolic, but constitute an element of systemic decolonization and socio-cultural security. The scale and regional specificity of this process are shown on the example of specific decisions of local councils.
dc.description.abstractУ статті досліджено дерусифікацію та декомунізацію як актуальні напрями правотворчої діяльності в Україні. Зазначено, що вони набули особливого значення після початку повномасштабного вторгнення рф. Проаналізовано основні законодавчі зміни, спрямовані на нейтралізацію російського впливу на сферу публічного простору та культури. Окрему увагу приділено ухваленому 2023 року Закону України «Про особливості державної політики з відновлення національної пам’яті та подолання наслідків колоніального минулого», який визначив правові механізми очищення топоніміки, демонтажу пам’ятників і заборони на пропаганду російського імперського спадку.
